Aquaponics

A closed-loop food growing system — fish and plants sustaining each other, designed and built from first principles.

Aquaponics is a system before it is a structure. Understanding the biology first, then designing the plumbing, tanks, grow beds and filtration around it — everything sized and balanced so the water works as hard as the plants.

On the system

Fish waste becomes plant food. Plant roots clean the water for the fish. A closed loop that, once balanced, largely runs itself. The design challenge is getting that balance right from the start — tank volumes, flow rates, stocking density — all calculated before anything is built.
