Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to an inclusive digital experience for everyone

Last Updated: March 2026

1. OUR COMMITMENT

Design Me a Solution Lab is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to this website and the AI solutions we build for clients.

2. STANDARDS WE FOLLOW

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which is the recognised standard for web accessibility. These guidelines are organised around four principles:

  • Perceivable: Information and interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive (e.g., alt text for images, sufficient colour contrast, resizable text).
  • Operable: Interface components and navigation must be operable (e.g., keyboard navigation, no content that causes seizures, sufficient time to read content).
  • Understandable: Information and interface operation must be understandable (e.g., readable text, predictable behaviour, input assistance).
  • Robust: Content must be robust enough to be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.

3. WHAT WE HAVE DONE

This website has been built with accessibility in mind from the ground up:

  • Semantic HTML: Proper heading hierarchy (h1–h6), landmark regions, and meaningful structure throughout all pages.
  • Alt Text: All images include descriptive alternative text for screen readers.
  • Colour Contrast: Text and interactive elements are designed to meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements (links, buttons, forms) are accessible via keyboard.
  • Focus Indicators: Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements for keyboard users.
  • Responsive Design: The site is fully responsive and usable across all device sizes.
  • Form Labels: All form fields have associated labels and clear error messages.
  • Link Purpose: Links are descriptive and indicate their destination.
  • Language: The page language is declared in the HTML for screen readers.

4. AI SOLUTIONS WE BUILD

Accessibility is also a core consideration in the AI-powered solutions we design for clients:

  • We advise clients on WCAG compliance for any user-facing AI interfaces.
  • Chatbots and automated communication tools are designed to be screen-reader compatible where possible.
  • We recommend inclusive design practices as part of every Build Spec.
  • Our AI Ethics Policy includes commitments to fairness and non-discrimination that extend to accessibility.

5. LEGAL FRAMEWORK

Our accessibility efforts align with:

  • Equality Act 2010 (UK): Requires service providers to make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people can access services.
  • Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018: While primarily aimed at public sector bodies, we voluntarily apply these standards as best practice.
  • European Accessibility Act (2025): Sets accessibility requirements for products and services in the EU, relevant for our international clients.
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA): Relevant accessibility requirements for US-based users and clients.

6. KNOWN LIMITATIONS

Despite our best efforts, some areas may have limitations:

  • Some hero images use overlay text that may have reduced contrast in specific areas — we use gradient overlays to mitigate this.
  • Third-party embedded content (if any) may not fully comply with WCAG standards.
  • Some interactive animations may not be accessible to all screen readers — core content is always available without animation.

We are actively working to address known issues and improve accessibility over time.

7. FEEDBACK & ASSISTANCE

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you encounter any barriers or have suggestions for improvement:

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 working days and to resolve issues within 20 working days where reasonably practicable.

If you need information on this website in an alternative format (e.g., large print, audio, or easy read), please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

8. ENFORCEMENT

If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you can contact:

  • UK: Equality Advisory Support Service (EASS) — equalityadvisoryservice.com
  • EU: Your national equality body.
  • US: The relevant ADA enforcement agency.

Continuous Improvement: Accessibility is not a one-time effort. We review this statement and our website's accessibility at least annually, and after any significant updates to the site.
